Police in Jersey City are investigating two shootings that sent three people to the hospital in Jersey City on Thursday.
According to police, hospital officials at the Jersey City Medical Center called police when a male victim arrived at the emergency department suffering injuries after being shots at a location in the city at around midnight.
The victim suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the legs according to police.
Police were pointed to the vicinity of 166 Myrtle Avenue where they arrived to find more than a dozen shell casings at that location.
While police were setting up a crime scene and began canvassing the area, they were notified that a second victim entered the emergency room suffering gunshot wounds. The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the ankle according to police.
Earlier in the day, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of Martin Luther King and Bramhall Avenue. Several police units arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach at around 1 p.m.
The victim was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors treated serious injuries according to reports.
Police are looking for two black male suspects who wore hoodies when they fired at the victim.
The investigation into both shootings remain active and ongoing.
