Gloucester County officials are investgiating a fire that killed a senior woman in a neighborhood in West Deptford early Monday morning.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to an address in the 1600 block of Division Street after they received reports of a house fire at approximately 1:35 a.m.
Officials say firefighters arrived to find heavy flames extending from the roof of the house. Firefighters began to attack the blaze from the exterior after intense fire forced them to evacuate the residence.

According to ABC6 reporter TaRhonda Thomas, firefighters pulled 75-year-old Jacqueline Truss from the burning homes where she was later pronounced dead. Thomas said Truss was the wife of a former long-serving police officer.

Firefighters were able to place the blaze under control in less than an hour with the cause under investigation.
