Second and Third Place Powerball Winning Locations Announced in Several New Jersey Counties

Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. (Jan. 14, 2016) – Millions of New Jersey players won millions of dollars in cash prizes resulting from the Wednesday, Jan. 13 drawing when three ticketholders from California, Florida and Tennessee lotteries split the world’s record-breaking jackpot.

Two lucky New Jersey Lottery ticketholders won the second prize, matching 5 white balls, making those tickets worth $1,000,000 each. One of those ticketholders added the Powerplay multiplier making that ticket worth $2,000,000! In addition, there were 46 third-prizewinners with tickets that matched 4 white balls.

“The Powerball® Group instituted game changes, with one of the goals being that more players will win significantly increased, non-jackpot prizes and offer better odds of winning those prizes,” Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director said. “I’m pleased that with each game draw, New Jersey Lottery players benefited from those modifications. I am looking forward to meeting the latest New Jersey millionaires. “
