Newark Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect who robbed and assaulted an employee at an Ironbound bakery on May 13.
According to a statement released by Director Frage, the incident took place at approximately 6:15 a.m. at Nora’s Café, Bakery & Gelateria, located in the 90 block of Ferry Street.
According to police, the suspect entered the bakery and ordered coffee.
As the employee was preparing the order, the suspect walked behind the counter and assaulted her. He punched the worker, causing her to fall to the ground, and then stomped on her several times.
The suspect then stole the victim’s backpack and iPhone before fleeing the scene in a red Ford pickup truck, traveling east on Ferry Street.The suspect is described as a brown-skinned male wearing a grey Levi hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and blue sneakers.
