A comprehensive search operation is underway for an elderly man who wandered away from his home in Bernards.
The Somerset County Office of Emergency Management was dispatched to join local police efforts, which began early Thursday morning after the man reportedly did not return home overnight.
Authorities have established a command post in the 50's block of Allen Road and have called for additional support from units across neighboring municipalities.
The search teams are utilizing drones and foot patrols to comb through wooded areas around the town. Despite these efforts, the man had not been located as of 4 a.m.
Currently, details about the missing man's identity and further specifics of the search operation remain undisclosed.
The situation continues under active investigation as teams work to locate the missing individual.
UPDATE 4:39 a.m. The suspect was located safely.
