Search for Missing 10-Year-Old Boy in Newark UPDATE: Found Safe

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has issued a call for public assistance in the search for Shamar Montgomery, a 10-year-old boy from Newark who was reported missing earlier today, April 20, 2024.AdPolice said Shamar was last seen around 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Parker Street.

He is described as being 4 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 76 pounds.

At the time of his disappearance, Shamar was wearing a black vest, a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and gray Jordans.

He also has an earring in his right ear, which may help in identifying him.

Director Fragé is urging anyone with information regarding Shamar's whereabouts to immediately contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).AdThe Newark Public Safety Department assures that all tips received through the Crime Stopper line will remain confidential and could potentially lead to a reward for crucial information.
