Essex County officials have confirmed that hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who faces multiple federal charges of sex trafficking, has not been moved to the Essex County Jail, despite swirling social media rumors.

Essex County spokesman Mr. Anthony Puglisi responded to an information request by RLS Media, clarifying that Combs is not housed at the county facility.

This clarification follows widespread speculation that the music icon had been relocated from the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn after his legal team reportedly raised concerns about the deteriorating conditions at the federal detention center.

An arrest affidavit revealed that Federal prosecutors in Manhattan allege that Combs engaged in sex trafficking by flying sex workers across state lines and coercing women he dated into participating in drug-fueled sex parties he referred to as “Freak Offs.”

According to reporting by John Annese of the New York Daily News, Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, recently sought his client’s transfer to the Essex County Jail in New Jersey, which has previously housed federal detainees.

Agnifilo described the New Jersey facility on TMZ as “a little less difficult,” citing persistent issues at MDC, which he said remain unresolved.

The request for relocation comes after U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter denied Combs’ appeal for a $50 million bail release last week. In a subsequent statement, Combs' lawyers, Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, indicated they would not pursue further efforts to move their client to a different facility.
