Police today announced the arrest of a 25-year-old Irvington man who allegedly assaulted and robbed a Scotch Plains woman inside her home Thursday night.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a Forepaugh Avenue home for a report of robbery.
Upon arrival, police found the female resident who claimed she was punched and choked shortly before being robbed by an acquaintance that she allowed into her home.
Resident provided a description of the individual which was apprehended shortly after being observed in the area of the incident, police said.
Jahan Harrison, 25, of Irvington was placed under arrest and brought to police headquarters where he was processed and held on $150,000 bail.
He was charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree aggravated assault. He is being held in the Union County Jail.
The victim was treated for minor injuries, according to Scotch Plains police.
The investigation is still ongoing, police added.
