Sayreville Football Player Arrested in Connection with Alleged Hazing Plans to File $2M lawsuit

One of the Sayreville football players arrested in connection with alleged hazing, plans to file a civil rights suit, according to document filed in March.

Dylan Thillet will file suit for damages that he has sustained as a result of his arrest and the school suspension. 

Among those included in the notice of intent letter is the school district and the Sayreville Police Department.

Thillet was among seven arrested on October 2014 in connection with a series of incidents that allegedly occurred inside the football team's locker room. 

All the unidentified players who were charged as juveniles are facing charges such as aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal restraint.

The head coach George Najjar, who led the football program for 20 years, was removed from the role and reassigned to an elementary school in February. 

Incident remains under investigation.
