Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of Isaac Borjas, 37, of Saddle Brook on narcotic related offenses.
During the month of February 2017, pursuant to a narcotics investigation, Borjas was identified as a person of interest in the investigation. On Feb. 7, members of the Bergen County Narcotics Task Force established surveillance at Borjas' residence and observed a vehicle arrive at his residence. An individual exited the vehicle and entered the residence.
A few minutes later, this individual exited the residence and re-entered the vehicle. This vehicle departed from the area and a mobile surveillance was initiated in Lodi. Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force conducted an investigative motor vehicle stop. Subsequent to the motor vehicle stop, two juvenile occupants were found to be in possession of marijuana. A court-authorized search warrant was then executed at Borjas' residence. As a result of the search warrant, approximately four ounces of marijuana and nine grams of cocaine were seized from the apartment.
Borjas was charged with the following offenses: one count of Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Marijuana, in a quantity greater than one ounce, but less than five pounds in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(11), a Third Degree Crime; One count of Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, in a quantity less than one half of an ounce in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(3), a Third Degree Crime; and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b, a Second Degree Crime.
He was released on his own recognizance pending a first appearance in the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court.
