Rutgers Police Investigating Two Dorm Building Burglaries

According to a statement released by Chief Kenneth Cop, the Rutgers University Police Department is investigating two burglary incidents that occurred on Thursday, September 12, between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at Katzenbach Residence Hall.AdThe victims, who are affiliated with Rutgers University and live in neighboring rooms at Katzenbach, reported that they were approached by two male subjects who asked for band-aids.

As the residents retrieved the requested items, both suspects entered the rooms through the open doors without permission. After assisting the suspects, the victims discovered that their wallets had been stolen.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Suspect 1: A light-skinned male, 18-21 years old, with an athletic build, standing between 5'6" and 5'8". He wore a blue New York Yankees baseball cap (backward), a black T-shirt, red shorts with "ANGEL" inscribed on the front, a white necklace, and white sneakers.

  • Suspect 2: A light-skinned male, 18-21 years old, with a thin build, approximately 5'5" in height. He wore a black t-shirt, jogger-style sweatpants, and white sneakers.

Rutgers University Police are asking anyone with information or who was in the area at the time of the incidents to contact the RUPD Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.AdThe investigation is ongoing.
