Passaic County officials are investigating a violent car crash that killed one person and injured one other on a highway in Passaic Friday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 10:25 p.m., police responded to reports of a crash with injuries in the northbound lanes of NJ-21 near Exit 9 and the Clifton border.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found one person ejected from a severely damaged vehicle at that location.
Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene and a second person suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Passaic Police received assistance from Clifton in shutting down the highway for the investigation.
The cause of the crash has not been determined at this time.
