Early Monday morning, a pedestrian strike incident led to the closure of all northbound lanes on Route 1 in Edison.
According to initial reports, police rushed to the intersection of Plainfield Avenue around 2:50 a.m. after reports emerged of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
On scene, emergency responders found an unconscious individual, who was immediately administered CPR.
The critically injured pedestrian was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital.
Edison Police are now meticulously working to piece together the events that led to this serious accident.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to determine the exact cause of the crash.
UPDATE: 4:51 a.m.: Police opened all lanes after conducting the investigation.
