A car struck a Roselle woman Tuesday night as she was crossing E. St. George Avenue, police said.
Police responded to the 1600 block of E. St. George Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at approximate 9:07 p.m., according to Captain James Sarnicki.
Upon arrival, police found the pedestrian, a 43-year-old Roselle woman, had been struck by a 2011 Nissan Versa, which remained at the scene, Sarnicki said. The woman suffered lacerations to her face and head trauma. She was tended to by the Linden Fire Department Ambulance and paramedics from Medic 10 before being transported to University Hospital in Newark. The accident is under investigation by the department’s Accident Investigation Unit. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Traffic Bureau at 908-474-8505.
