A Roselle Park man was arrested and charged yesterday with bicycle thefts, police said.
According to police, yesterday at approximately 2:23p.m.,
Ptl. Alexander Lanza noticed a pedestrian - later identified as Ronald Perry, 43, of Roselle Park - walking along the sidewalk with a children’s bicycle in his possession.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Perry was not the lawful owner of the bicycle and was unable to identify its true owner.
A second bicycle - only described as a men’s adult bike - was also recovered from Perry's home, according to police. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana).
Perry was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance and controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
He was issued a summons and released pending a future court date.
The Roselle Park Police is actively attempting to identify the owners of the bicycles and request that residents who may have had a bicycle stolen recently to contact Det. Richard Cocca at 908-245-2300 ext. 2204 with a description of their bicycle.
