Borough police are investigating a break-in at a local Dunkin Donuts, where approximately $3,000 was taken, police said this afternoon.
Officers responded to the Dunkin Donuts at 47 W. Westfield Avenue on an activated burglar alarm Sunday at approximately 1:50 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the front door windows shattered and appeared that entry was gained.
A further investigation revealed that actor(s) entered the front door, removed cash from the registers, and entered the office where additional cash was removed before fleeing out the side door. In addition the suspect(s) also removed the video surveillance unit at some point during the burglary.
Total proceeds were approximately $3,000 in cash.
The incident is under investigation.
