A high-speed police pursuit that reportedly began in a Roseland community ended with the driver of the suspect vehicle given officers the slip in Newark.
Police began to follow a vehicle due to traffic violations when the driver ignored officers lights and sirens and drove away.
According to reports, the suspect sped onto the eastbound lanes of I-280 where police broke off the chase in Newark.
Police notified NJ State Police and surrounding municipalities of a dark-colored vehicle -possibly a Nissan- occupied by the driver and other suspects who remain at-large.
There were no collisions of injuries reported.
