Authorities in Roseland are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday night, leaving one man dead.
Police were dispatched to a residence in the single-digit block of Kent Drive at approximately 9:45 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Emergency responders administered CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Investigators are working to determine whether the shooting was self-inflicted. However, no confirmation has been made regarding this possibility.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
