The fatal fall of a worker at The Castle banquet hall in November has a roofing company paying a $38,025 fine.
According to police, on Nov. 18 sometime around 1:30 p.m., Michael A. Montero was standing on a wooden pallet on the fork end when allegedly a mechanical failure occurred and the forked end detached.
The laborer, of GK Brothers Construction LLC, was reportedly raised by a forklift to retrieve a ladder but the front end fork attachment detached while lowering the man, causing him to fall about 20 to 30 feet.
