Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Chief Martin McParland of the Rockaway Township Police Department jointly announce that an investigation is currently underway involving an incident which occurred on Green Pond Road, Rockaway Township.
According to authorities, members of the Rockaway Township Police Department were dispatched to the area near Green Pond Road, Rockaway Township sometime around 6 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found a injured male, who appeared to have been struck by what the mayor described as a dump truck.
According to Prosecutor's office, victim was transported to St. Clare's Dover Campus hospital but no update on his condition was provided.
This investigation is in its preliminary stages and no further details will be released at this time.
There is no indication that there is any threat to the community.
