Authorities are investigating a shooting incident in Elizabeth, believed to be motivated by robbery, that unfolded Wednesday night.
A preliminary investigation indicated that police were called to the 70's block of Broad Street around 8 p.m. following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered nearly half a dozen shell casings, yet a thorough search of the area revealed no victims.
The investigation took a turn as police began probing whether an individual who walked into a Newark hospital with injuries was connected to the Elizabeth shooting.
Currently, the suspect involved in the shooting remains at large.
Elizabeth Police are continuing their investigation and are expected to release additional information as more details become available.
