Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating the person or persons responsible for attacking and beating Long Branch police officer Tuesday that left him unconscious.
According to Monmouth County Crime Stoppers, an unidentified Long Branch Police Officer was assaulted in the area of Westwood and Bath avenues Tuesday around 2 a.m.
The circumstances nor the condition of the officer have been released at this time.
