Police placed Piscataway High School on lockdown briefly this morning after they received reports of a person with a weapon on school grounds.
Police say the building was placed on lockdown from 10 a.m. to 10:44 a.m. when they learned that an individual claimed to be in possession of a weapon.
The person was identified then placed detained by police.
There were no reports of charges filed at this time.
School officials released the following statement: "students and staff responded perfectly and took all the necessary precautions and we are proud of the way our students responded."
