Police in Newark are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred in the city's East Ward overnight.
Several reports of a carjacking that occurred in the area of Orchard Street and Pennington Street around 10 p.m. sent police to the scene where the victim stated that at least two armed men pointed weapons, taking a white BMW 328i with a possible NJ license plate number " A97-BRC".
The suspects were reportedly accompanied by individuals occupying a Dodge Ram pickup.
There were no reported injuries.
