As Labor Day weekend travel begins, residents are waking up to a cool and wet start on this Friday morning.
The National Weather Service radars are tracking heavy and steady downpours moving from Pennsylvania into North Jersey. They are expected to linger until around 7 a.m.Some areas may experience localized flooding due to the intensity of the rain.
After the early morning showers, conditions are expected to improve, with a mostly cloudy day ahead and a high near 73 degrees.
An east wind around 9 mph will keep the temperatures cool, providing a pleasant respite after the rain clears.
NWS forecasters say Friday night will remain mostly cloudy, with a low around 66 degrees.
As the weekend continues, travelers are encouraged to enjoy the cooler weather and stay safe on the roads as they head out for the Labor Day holiday.
