Newark and the North Jersey region residents are facing a wet start to their day, with early morning temperatures in the mid-40s and rain expected to persist throughout the day.The National Weather Service forecasts a steady and soaking rain, turning conditions messy as the day progresses.
Prepare for periods of rain, some of which could be heavy at times. With a 90% chance of precipitation, Thursday promises little respite from the downpour, with a high near 51 degrees.
A light north wind is expected to pick up, reaching 5 to 9 mph in the morning, adding a chill to the already damp atmosphere.
As the evening approaches, NWS forecasters say rain is likely to continue, mainly before 11 p.m., maintaining cloudy skies and a low of around 39 degrees.This weather calls for residents to keep their umbrellas close at hand and to dress appropriately for the conditions.
