Police in Linden are investigating a serious auto-pedestrian crash that occurred on Monday night.
According to police, at approximately 11:15 p.m. on April 25, the suspect vehicle was traveling northbound on W. Edgar Road (US Route 1&9) when it struck an 18-year-old Rahway man as he was crossing the street at the intersection with Aviation Plaza North.
Police said that the victim was transported to Newark University Hospital with critical injuries.
The vehicle fled the scene, continuing north on Route 1 towards Elizabeth, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation by The Linden Police Department Traffic Bureau.
