A 20-year-old Rahway man has been arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass for breaking into several vehicles at Cartainer, located at 975 E. Linden Avenue, on August 27, 2015.
The owner of the business, which transports motor vehicles and stores them on the property, called police after finding several cars burglarized during the night of August 26.
Detectives responded and recovered video, physical evidence, including blood evidence which was submitted to the Union County Crime Lab in Westfield.
After a lengthy investigation, 20-year-old Zachary J. Lapoma, of Rahway, was identified as a suspect and probable cause was developed leading to the criminal charges.
Lapoma was arrested by detectives earlier today.
He is being held on $15,500 bail pending a court date in Union County later this week.
