The event was organized by NJ Salsa, a company dedicated to producing dance programs, Latin nightlife opportunities, and social experiences, officials say.

Officials said the Latin Stroll was part of the ongoing Mayor's Music Series, which features diverse artists and multiple events every week between May and September.

The event began at the Rahway Recreation Center with a live concert from Grupo K’ndela, a New Jersey-based salsa orchestra featuring world-renowned trombonist and composer Jimmy Bosch, officials stated, and shortly after the concert, the stroll began.

Officials say this year’s event included stops at Romero’s restaurant, The Waiting Room, and The Lounge at Watt, located at The Watt Hotel.

Each stop along the stroll had curated experiences accompanied by music from DJs, social dancing, choreographed performances, a social dance competition, and a select menu designed to stimulate support for local businesses, according to officials.

“The public administrators at the City of Rahway made it easy for us to create a beautiful social and recreational experience for the community,”  said Steve Santos, Director at NJ Salsa.
