The 81-year-old woman found dead inside her Jersey City home yesterday was stabbed to death, according to authorities.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Jersey City police were called the Lexington Avenue home shortly after 10: 30 a.m. for of an unresponsive female.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim - who has been identified as Lucila Cardenas-Viejo - on the living room floor suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Cardenas-Viejo was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officials.
The investigation into her death is active and ongoing.
