A prisoner was received medical attention for a stab wound after they were found suffering the injury at the jail on Monday night.
According to preliminary information, EMS was requested to the 5th Precinct station located at 480 Clinton Avenue for an injured person around 10:17 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a prisoner suffering a stab injury.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment with police onboard the EMS and escorting.
Police have not released the circumstances behind the stabbing at this time.
The extent of the victim's injuries has not been reported as fatal.
UPDATE 4:30 p.m.: The victim was stabbed prior to arriving at the precinct.
