Pregnant Woman Struck by Car in Newark's Ironbound Section

A pregnant woman suffered non-fatal injuries after a car struck her in a section of Newark's Ironbound section Thursday night. 

Police say emergency responders were called to the vicinity of Chestnut and Pacific streets after they learned of a person struck by a vehicle just before 8:35 p.m. 

Crews arrived at the scene and found the pregnant woman -around 20-years-old- suffering injuries after a vehicle struck her at that location. 

Police say the woman was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. 

The incident is under investigation by Newark Police.
