Authorities in Newark are investigating separate shootings in Newark that left 3 people injured and one dead in the city's South Ward overnight.
In the first incident, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out inside a house located at 196 Seymour Avenue at around 12:30 a.m. where they arrived to find a male victim inside the kitchen of a house shot multiple times in the kitchen.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene according to authorities.
A pregnant woman was found in the bedroom, at the same location, suffering a gunshot wound to the foot. She was rushed to University Hospital where she is expected to survive.
Police setup a crime scene and have launched an investigation.
In a separate shooting that occurred in the city's South Ward, police rushed to the 20's block of Fabyan Place after receiving reports of shots fired at around 2:30 a.m. according to reports.
Arriving officers located a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the knee reports said.
A second victim arrived at Newark's Beth Israel Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to the leg said he was shot at the Fabyan Place location.
Both victim's injuries are considered non-life threatening according to reports.
Police are investigating.
