Postal Police officials are investigating a fire that ignited one of its police cars in Kearny overnight.
Firefighters rushed to the vicinity of 1200 Harrison Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. after they received reports of a fire near the post office.
Crews arrived in the area and found a fully involved fire engulfing a police car at that location.
Firefighters were able to the extinguish the blaze in a short time with a search of the vehicle indicating no injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
