Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a warm, breezy, and unusually balmy Halloween morning.

It's 66 degrees with some cloud cover, but temperatures are set to soar throughout the day, giving families and trick-or-treaters a rare summer-like experience for the holiday.

As costumes are prepared, be ready for a high near 81 degrees by afternoon as the sun breaks through.

According to the National Weather Service, we can expect mostly sunny skies, with a high near 81, and a southwest breeze at 5 to 9 mph.

For tonight, cloud cover will increase with a low of around 65, providing a warm, comfortable evening for outdoor festivities.
