Mizkan America Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for some varieties of Ragu pasta sauces, saying in a press release that they may contain fragments of plastic.
Company officials say it has not received reports of consumer injuries but issued the recall out of "an abundance of caution," according to the release. Any recalled sauces should be discarded and not consumed.
Consumers should look for a code on the jars' yellow cap, as well as the jars' Best Use By dates, to determine if products are included in the voluntary recall.

No other sizes or varieties of the sauce are affected by the recall, according to the company.
All of the sauces were produced from June 4 to June 8.
The company said in the press release that it is working with retailers nationwide to remove any remaining affected products from store shelves.
