Police are investigating a woman's report that her purse containing $8,000 in cash was taken from a Kohl's shopping cart Sunday afternoon.
Police responded to the Kohl’s store, 1901 E. Edgar Road, on a report of a theft yesterday around 5:13 p.m.
Officers spoke to a 41-year-old Fords woman who told them that she had pushed her shopping cart out in the parking lot to her car and unloaded her merchandise and drove off.
However, after driving away realized that she had left her Ivanka Trump purse in the shopping cart and returned to the lot but the purse was no longer in the cart.
She told officers that the purse contained her driver license, four credit cards, and $8,000 in cash.
Kohl's Loss Prevention is working with police in reviewing surveillance footage from the store lot.
