Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Robbery Suspects

Newark

Newark Public Safety officials request the public’s help identifying the below-pictured suspects, who attempted to use credit cards taken during a robbery at gunpoint on September 6.

According to officials, Newark police responded to a call about a robbery that occurred at approximately 6 a.m. in the 200 block of Hunterdon Street. The victim was seated in his silver Hyundai Elantra when a black colored sedan pulled up next to his vehicle and blocked him from driving away.

Officials say, a passenger in the sedan exited the vehicle with a handgun and demanded that the victim give up his personal belongings.

The victim complied and gave the suspect his cellphone and wallet, which had credit and debit cards, and $9 in cash.

After the robbery, the suspects fled in the sedan.

They were captured on surveillance video attempting to use the victim’s credit cards at a liquor store on Springfield Avenue and a grocery store on Irvine Turner Boulevard.
