Franklin Township, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public's assistance with identifying additional vehicles involved in a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian earlier today on State Highway 55 in Gloucester County.
NJ State Police say at approximately 2:24 a.m., a Toyota Corolla traveling southbound in the area of milepost 40.9 on State Highway 55 struck a pedestrian walking in the left lane of travel.
The pedestrian identified as, Ines Hernandez, 26, of Bridgeton City, N.J., sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Corolla, Tyler Mason, 23, of Vineland, N.J. stayed on scene and did not sustain any injuries.
Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives determined Ines Hernandez was also struck by additional unknown vehicles traveling southbound.
The cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
