Newark Public officials request the public’s help identifying a suspect, who fired a gunshot into the air while walking down a South Ward street on October 28.
According to Newark Police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert, which detected gunfire at approximately 11:03 a.m. in the 100 block of Hansbury Avenue.
Police say, when the officers arrived, they searched the area and recovered one shell casing.
According to police, the suspect, a Black male with dreadlocks, was walking east on Hansbury when he discharged the gun.
He was wearing blue ripped jeans, white sneakers, and a gray sweatshirt with a hood with the BMW logo on the front.
Over his shoulder, he was carrying a blue tote bag.
