Police Seek Help Locating Newark Man Wanted for Questioning in Robbery Investigation

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in locating Tahib Whiteside, 18, of Newark, who is wanted for questioning about a robbery on July 28.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé stated the robbery occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. after the victim responded to a post on Facebook Market Place to buy a Play Station video game console.AdWhen the victim met the suspect in the 300 block of Morris Avenue, the suspect pulled out a knife and tried to cut him, according to officials. 

Officials say the victim grabbed the suspect’s arm and wrestled with him until the suspect snatched the victim’s wallet from his pocket.

The suspect ran southbound on Morris Avenue, officials said.
