Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspects who robbed a victim while brandishing a knife on March 26.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said police responded to the robbery, which occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. in the 500 block of 18th Avenue.
Officials said as the victim was walking, a group of Black males approached him, and one of them demanded that he give them his belongings.
The suspect with the knife took his wallet, and all of the males fled westbound on 18th Avenue, officials say.
According to officials, they later used the victim’s credit card at Still the Dub, a convenience store located in the 700 block of Springfield Avenue in Irvington.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of the suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
