Authorities in Newark are on the search for a female suspect who is wanted for a couple of overnight armed robberies in the city's West Ward.
Police responded to the are of South Orange Ave. at Sanford Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. on reports of an armed robbery in progress when they came in contact with the victim who reported to them that a heavy-set black female with dreads approached armed with a gun and announced an armed robbery.
According to the victim, the woman took personal possessions shortly before fleeing the scene with a thin black male suspect.
The woman is responsible for at least one other armed robbery in the area.
There were no physical injuries reported.
