Authorities in Paterson made a swift recovery of a car that was carjacked at gunpoint in the city late Saturday night.
According to reports, police were called to the 300 block of McClean Boulevard to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress.
Units arriving at the scene were informed that three black male suspects exited a dark-colored Porsche Cayenne with rims and demanded the victims 2010 Nissan Maxima at gunpoint.
The suspects took the vehicle then sped away from the scene according to reports.
Police canvassing the area found the unoccupied vehicle in the area of Arlington and Cliff Street at around 12:35 a.m.
Officers spotted the suspects inside the Porsche Cayenne and began to follow our of the city and onto the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway where they lost track of the vehicle near exit 151 in Bloomfield.
Police are continuing to investigate.
