Police in Newark are on the search for two suspects responsible for an armed robbery in the city's East Ward this evening.
Officers responded to the 30's block of Merchant Street a little after 7:30 p.m. after receiving repots of an armed robbery at gunpoint. Cops arrived to find the victim who reported to them that about three black male suspects approached armed with a silver handguns and demanded a cell phone.
The victims reportedly handed over the cell phone to the thieves shortly before they fled northbound on Ferguson to Clover Street.
According to the victim, the suspects were around the ages of 17-18 years of age and wore dark colored hoodies.
There were no physical injuries reported.
