Verona officers recently responded to a local bank after receiving reports of two people acting in a suspicious manner near the ATM machine.
According to police, officers responded to the Chase Bank on Pompton Avenue, where they observed a skimming device allegedly attached to the machine by two unidentified female suspects.
The device included a magnetic card reader and a camera affixed to the cash dispenser which is used to record PIN keypad entries.
Fortunately, the devices were removed before the suspects could return to download any of the information, police added.
The incident remains under investigation.
