Police in Newark are on an active search for a gun-wielding male who walked into a Newark Ironbound business and held it up on Monday night.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect entered the UNExpress Multi-Service business located in the 80's block of Pulaski Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. then brandished a gun at employees before he began to rob the establishment.
According to a witness at the scene who said he is familiar with the employees, the suspect ordered workers to the floor during the incident, but there were no physical injuries.
After the robbery, the suspect fled the scene on foot then entered a white or light-colored vehicle that drove away from the scene according to reports.
It is not clear what the suspect took from the store -if anything- during the robbery.
The incident is in the early stages of its investigation.
