Police in Newark notified surrounding towns to be on the lookout for a silver 4-door 2003 Subaru Legacy that was carjacked from a location in the city on Thursday evening. The vehicle has a partial NJ license plate number "YLW"
Police say an armed suspect approached the driver in the vicinity of South 11th Street and 11th Avenue and demanded the vehicle with the weapon in hand.
The suspect then sped away in the car in an unknown direction.
In a separate incident, police are looking into a theft of a vehicle that occurred in the 400 block of Hawthorne Avenue where a male suspect took the victims silver Toyota Camry.
Police have not reported if the incident was a carjacking at this time.
There were no [hysical injuries in either incident.
