An early evening violent carjacking and assault that happened in the city's South Ward has police on the search for several suspects.
According to reports, a female suspect armed with a knife approached a woman occupying a gold 2002 Oldmobile Alero in the 1000 block of Hunterdon Street at around 5:30 p.m.
The suspect reportedly brandished a knife then began to stab the victim while forcing her out and taking the vehicle. The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number 'B57-FCB"
The victim was transported to University Hospital in serious condition.
Authorities believe that the suspect was accompanied by other suspects who were occupying a Dodge Neon.
