Police Search for Newark South Ward Burglary Suspect

Police in Newark requests the public’s help identifying a  suspect in connection with two burglaries that occurred on Tuesday, September 14. 

According to police, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to an apartment building in the area of Lehigh Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue on a call of a burglary.

Responding officers canvassed two apartments where residents indicated the suspect had entered.

The suspect was not located, but the furniture had been disturbed in one apartment, and a window screen had been moved in the other.

Police said the suspect attempted to enter a third apartment but was startled by a tenant who was inside.

Detectives investigating this incident obtained the below photos of the suspect as he fled and requests the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect as part of their investigation.
